Special Olympics Programs –Athletics (Track and Field)

THE RULES: If interested in participating in the Special Olympics sports program, you MUST have ALL paperwork returned to the MCSRA office by the deadlines. All athletes must abide by the behavior policy set by MCSRA. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. No eating or sharing drinks will be allowed during practice. MCSRA staff reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of participants for this program.
ARE YOU READY FOR COMPETITION? You will practice on Sundays at the Macomb High School track and field from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. The practices will lead up to the Regional competition held in Monmouth on May 5, 2024.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES: This program is designed to assist the participants to improve their socialization skills, improve their gross motor skills, and increase their interaction with peers.
Dates: Sundays – March 17 – May 5, 2024
Time: 1:00 – 2:00 PM
Location: Macomb High School Track and Field, Macomb, Illinois
Deadline to Register and payment due: March 1, 2024
Fee: R: $30.00/NR: $35.00 - Fee includes practice until Regional competition. If the athlete qualifies with a gold in their division in their sport to attend the State Games, the athlete will then have to pay an additional $30.00 to provide the staffing, practice time, and transportation for the State competition in June.
