Special Olympics Program –Basketball

THE RULES: If interested in participating in the Special Olympics sports program, you MUST have ALL paperwork returned to the MCSRA office by the deadlines. All athletes must abide by the behavior policy set by MCSRA. No walk-in registrations will be accepted. All athletes must wear a mask while being transported in MCSRA vehicles. All athletes must have their own masks available. Hand sanitizer will be provided for athletes to use before the entrance into the practice and games and after the practice and games are complete. No eating or sharing drinks will be allowed during practice. MCSRA staff reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of participants for this program.
ARE YOU READY FOR COMPETITION? You will practice on Sundays at the Washington Gym from 3:00 PM – 4: 00 PM. We will hope to have games or matches scheduled starting December/January, following Special Olympics and MCSRA health safety guidelines.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES: This program is designed to assist the participants to improve their socialization skills, improve their gross motor skills, and increase their interaction with peers.
Dates: Sundays – November 26 – December 31, 2023
Time: 3:00 – 4:00 PM
Location: Washington Street Gym, Macomb, IL.
Deadline to Register and payment due: November 1, 2022
Fee: R: $60.00/NR: $65.00 - Fee includes practice and game sessions until January, 2024. If team/individual advances to Sectionals, there will be an additional $40.00 fee to cover additional practices.
Maximum Participants: 1 team – 11 players. If we do not have enough players for a team, we will ask the players if they are interested in performing in the individual skills event.
